Nine accounts renew inside 30 days and three of them are the ones to worry about. Their ticket volume is up while usage is falling, which is the pattern that preceded every churn last quarter.

The knowledge base nobody had to write

Knowledge base software asks you to write the articles first, then keep them current, which is why most small-business help centres are three years old. Daciel's knowledge is what the business already has: the policy document, the contract, the price list, the thousand replies support already sent, the call transcripts. The agent reads them when it answers, quotes the passage, and says when it cannot find one. Nothing is published to the world until you say so.

Acme wants a renewal quote. Their contract is up in three weeks.

Ticket volume has climbed every month this quarter. Read that before we price it.

So someone pulls usage, open tickets and the last two invoices. Three systems.

And most of an afternoon. Hand it over and hold the send until one of us reads it.

Two things it does on day one

What is knowledge base software?

Knowledge base software is a place to write and organise articles so customers can help themselves and staff can find the answer: a public help centre, an internal wiki, or both, with search and analytics on top. Zendesk Guide, Notion, Confluence, Document360, Helpjuice and Guru hold the search, priced per user or per site, and all of them start from someone writing the articles.

How the knowledge base works

01

Connect the sources

Google Drive, Notion, Confluence, the mailbox and the documents already on records. Each read under its connector's permissions.

02

The agent reads before it answers

Customer or colleague, phone, inbox or chat: the relevant passages are found and quoted.

03

Unknowns are routed

No passage found means the question goes to a person, and the gap is logged.

04

Answers become articles

Replies approved repeatedly are drafted as articles and held for a named person.

05

The base grows

From real questions, with the source and the approver on every article.

Knowledge base software, compared

Help centres and wikis you write first, and Daciel's knowledge read from what already exists. Compared on where the knowledge comes from, what is public, and the price.

Safe to answer from. Every answer quotes its source, permissions follow the record the document sits on, and the agent says when it does not know rather than guessing.

How permissions work

Questions people ask before buying

Do we get a public help centre?

Not yet. Articles live inside the product and in the agent's answers to customers and staff. If you need a public site today, connect Zendesk Guide or Document360 and Daciel will read it.

Do we have to write articles?

No. The agent answers from documents, past replies and transcripts you already have. Articles are drafted from answers the team approves repeatedly.

How does it avoid making things up?

Every answer quotes the passage it came from, and when no passage is found the question is routed to a person instead of answered.

Can staff use it as an internal wiki?

Yes. Colleagues ask the agent, which reads the same sources under their permissions and quotes the source.
